LO1-Script

Narrator/ Presenter-

"Why is mental health so hard to tak about?"

"This is a question many of us should be asking ourselves, in the day and age of Facebook and Smart phones where everyone can talk to almost anyone at any given time you'd think it'd be easy"

"Nearly three in four young people fear the reactions of friends when they talk about their mental health problems"

However in reality, 9 out of 10 people who come from forward about their menal health issues recieve no discrimination or stigmatization whatsoever"

"So it seems the popular idea of mental health being a taboo or avoided subject by young people is an out-dated and incorrect belief"

"This is making it hard for young people that have mental health issues to feel comfortable to find help, this is a big problem when around 670,000 young people suffer with mental health problems in the UK alone"

"When we asked a few young people what puts them off speaking about mental health they replied with..."

Voice Actor/ Adult-
"Stigmatization"
"Thinking they're attention seeking from other peoples point of view"

Narrator/ Presenter-
"Whats not surprising is how young people reacted to the same question..."

"The young people we asked all had a generalised idea, mental health is a taboo subject that people find hard to speak about"

“Many also said that other young people didn’t feel confident enough to speak about their problems or that they many young people don’t actually know the severity of mental health problems and so don’t really understand their situation fully and so they find it difficult to get help.”

“ This is why with mental health it is so vital to find help and talk about your problems before they become a weight on your daily life.”

“But this doesnt mean tell everyone everything about your personal problems”

“The real point of this video is to highlight the idea that finding the correct help from people you are close to or websites and groups like flourish is a positive thing to do to help you cope with such issues , dont be defined by your mental health issues.”

LO4 Drafts of Documentary

This peice of footage is the first part that we edited as this is out timelapse footage and we didnt need to do much to it. We sped the footage up and also cut bits out. We have edited out the sound and will add a voiceover.

Feed back from Sheffield Flourish

Brandon from Sheffield Flourish gave us some excellent feedback and liked our ideas.

LO3 Evidence of Filming

This is the ampitheatre behind the train station. We filmed here for our opening shot so and it is a distinguishing shot of Sheffield.

This is the tram stop behind the train station, we filmed here because it is a key feature of sheffield.

This is a bridge crossing over the Sheffield train lines, we filmed here because it looks gritty and has a certain feeling to it and fits the general coventions of the documentary style.

This is Parkhill Flats and we filmed here because it is also a key location in sheffield and it has a bus stop which is what we needed for this part of the storyboard.

LO3 Rushes

The footage here can be improved and the first few clips need to be refilmed as they have been filmed in the wrong settings.

There is however, some really good footage that just needs to be steadied so that its not as shaky.

LO4- Drafts

Draft One

The footage that has been edited here could be better once we have removed the audio as it isn't meant to be there and it will also be better when we have finished editing. When this part is finished there will be a voice over and maybe also some words appearing over the footage.
